📖 Course Overview
The SSI Rescue React EFR course is the ultimate emergency preparedness program for divers. This comprehensive 2-3 day course combines the full Rescue Diver certification with Emergency First Response (EFR) training, giving you complete life-saving capabilities both in and out of the water.
The Rescue Diver component covers all essential rescue skills: self-rescue, panicked diver response, unconscious diver recovery, underwater search patterns, in-water artificial respiration, and emergency management. You'll practice realistic scenarios that simulate actual diving emergencies, building true confidence and competence.
The EFR (Emergency First Response) component is a half-day session covering primary care (CPR) and secondary care (first aid). You'll learn adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, choking management, bleeding control, shock management, and injury assessment. These skills are invaluable for any emergency situation — not just diving.
The program includes three open water training dives where you'll apply your rescue skills in real ocean conditions. These scenarios test your ability to manage multiple problems simultaneously, from panicked divers to unresponsive victims at depth.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn both the SSI Rescue Diver certification AND the Emergency First Response (EFR) certification — the CPR/First Aid credential recognized by all major dive training agencies. This combination is required for professional-level certifications including Divemaster and Instructor.
