The SSI Junior Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular entry-level scuba certification program for young divers. It combines academic learning with practical skill development in a progressive, step-by-step format that's both fun and educational.
Over three exciting days, your child will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including equipment use, underwater communication, safety procedures, and basic dive planning. All training is conducted in small groups with a low student-to-instructor ratio, ensuring personalized attention and maximum safety.
Upon completion, young divers receive the SSI Junior Open Water Diver certification, allowing them to dive independently with a certified adult buddy to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 feet) for ages 10-11, or 18 meters (60 feet) for ages 12-14. This certification is recognized worldwide and can be upgraded to the full Open Water Diver certification upon turning 15.
